Panchkula : Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal today announced to open a Medical college, Law college and Sanskrit University in the town. Besides, a scheme is being prepared to start Metro rail in tri-city which would also benefit the Panchkula people in a big way, he added.
The Chief Minister was addressing a well attended vikas rally at sector -16 here today. While accepting the most of demands raised by local MLA Mr Gian Chand Gupta, he also announced to upgrade of existing 100 bedded civil hospital of the town to 300 bed capacity. He said that evening law classes would be started in government college sector-2 Panchkula and Law College would also be opened in the same premises. Local MP Mr Rattan Lal Kataria also raised various demands of people out of which many have been fulfilled by the Chief Minister.
He also announced that a polytechnic and multi-skill centre would be opened on five acres of land in sector-26, a government senior secondary school on four acres of land in sector-25, Sanskrit Gurukul as well as Sanskrit University in Mansa Devi Shrine Board Complex. He said that work for opening of National Institute of Fashion and Technology on 10 acres of land in sector-23 would soon be started, opening of Haryana Roadways workshop on above 5 acres of land in industrial area phase – I, Panchkula so that local sub-depot of roadways could function as depot. For granting permission for construction of first floor in booths allotted by HUDA, he said that department concerned would be asked to ease the norms for the same in the larger interest of people. The demand pertaining to declaration of industrial area as commercial area would also be considered favourably. He also said that a survey is being conducted for rationalization of property collector rates and increase in Floor Area Ratio in the state. This demand would also be fulfill very soon.
Mr Manohar Lal said that issue regarding construction of another bridge over River Ghaggar would be raised before the Punjab government. The issue directly linked with Punjab thus Haryana government would make efforts for construction of bridge in consultation with Punjab government. He also announced for construction of Railway under Bridge in section-19 and said that a written communication would be made to Ministry of Railways for this purpose. He said that beautification of nullah in sector 2, 4 and 12 would be made.
He also announced Rs 10 crore each for development of urban and rural areas of the district.
The Chief Minister said that there is no dearth of funds for the overall development of the state. The last year budget of Rs 69000 crore had been increased to Rs 88000 crore in this year.
Referring to the Prime Minister’s Mr Narendra Modi mantra ‘Na Khaunga-Na Khane Dunga, he said that state government is committed to root out the corruption at all levels. He also urged the people to help the government in this direction. The government will ensure that every penny of state would be utilized for the welfare of people of the state. He said that state government is bringing social audit scheme which would not only ensure quality works but also check corruption. All budget estimates would be passed by the 11 member committee constituted under the scheme. Besides, final payment would also be passed by these committees.
He said that Prime Minister Mr Narendra Modi will participate in International Yoga Day function to be held in Chandigarh onJune 21.
He also highlighted various schemes and programmes of the government including Gram Uday se Bharat Uday, Housing for all by 2022 and others.
