Chandigarh : The Punjab Vigilance Bureau today registered a case against former member of Punjab Subordinate Service Selection (PSSS) Board and former chairman Punjab Agro Industries Dyal Singh Kolianwali for amassing huge wealth than the disclosed sources of his income by misusing his official position.
Disclosing this an official spokesperson of the Vigilance Bureau (VB) said during the investigation, the VB team have chosen a specific check period from the year 2009 to 2014 during which the accused was holding a responsible posting and found that he had got total income of Rs. 2.39 crore. During the check period, accused had spent Rs. 4.10 crores on various moveable and immoveable properties including other expenditures which was more than 71% approximately of his actual earning, he added.
During the investigation it has also been found that the accused had misusing his official position as the employees got transferred/deployed with the collusion of government officials and collected money with the help of the illegal elements. He added that it has also found that Koilanwali has amassing huge wealth i.e. properties, hotels, agricultural forms in states outside like Rajasthan, Uttarakhand etc. “The accused is living a life of royal privileges while staying in the house with a family in around 5 acres of palatial farm house. During that period, he had spent huge amounts on his son’s wedding”, he added.
The spokesperson further informed that a disproportionate assets case has been registered against the accused under various sections of Prevention of Corruption Act at VB police station SAS Nagar(Mohali) and further investigations were under progress.
